They are so common, in fact, that when it happened, my Spanish teacher barely acknowledged it, continuing to teach class as if nothing of note had occured. I, on the other hand, put my hands on the table and looked at my roommate with large eyes, but she just smiled, knowing I was clearly not as used to such a feeling.
