One day, the poets arrived to find three beautiful women swimming in the creek and one exclaimed, “It’s like Poppea Sabina bathing!” Poppaea was a Roman empress famed for using her beauty to gain power, and since then the baths have been known by her name. However, now, because of climate change and regular periods of drought, there is no water in the baths, which, when full, usually have a small waterfall.
I enjoyed lunch on the roof of my apartment building on Sunday and saw a beautiful rainbow!
