I’m reading a book called “Animal, Vegetable, Junk” by Mark Bittman about the evolution of agriculture throughout human history and how it’s affected society. I’m learning so, so much!!
I like to take a break from my research before lunch and go for a swim at the university pool. It's a great way for me to let my ideas marinate, and this activity refreshes my brain for an afternoon of work.
I visited the archeological Arab Baths this week. The baths were built as part of the Caliphal Palaces of the Umayyads and were made up of cold, warm and hot rooms. I also learned that two political leaders were murdered within the rooms of the bath complex!
