I am living in the Foldes Ferenc Kollegium in Budapest, which is a dorm for my university. The dorm is located about three blocks from Corvinus University. I enjoy the ten minute walk to my classes every day! My dorm is full of different students, most of whom are Hungarian and American. The dorm is a bit divided, which is a disappointment, where Hungarians live on Floors One and Two and Americans live on Floors Three to Five. On the Sixth Floor are the Resident Advisors who make sure everything is going well in the dorm and that nobody is causing any trouble.
My room is pretty standard, with normal furniture and white walls. I have two roommates, one from New York named Jack and one from Ukraine named Miklos. We each have a twin bed, a desk, and a shrank in the room. Our room has our own bathroom, with a shower, sink, and toilet. My room got lucky because we do not have to share the bathroom with another room. All of the other rooms have a bathroom for six people, whereas my room has just three people.
I get along very well with my roommates, and this is a big plus. I hear stories about roommates not getting along, and this would be terrible! It is important to be adaptable when living in a room with unfamiliar people.
