Hi! My name is Sosa, and I’ll be spending this winter studying the stars and galaxies in Cape Town, South Africa! The sky is very clear in Cape Town, which makes it the perfect spot to look at the universe. I’m currently 20 years old and a third-year student at Dartmouth College, where I am majoring in physics and government. My family is Nigerian, and I grew up in Newark, New Jersey--it’s like a smaller version of New York City. My trip to South Africa will be my first trip abroad!
Some of my hobbies include photography, skateboarding, live music, basketball and meeting new people. I just bought a new camera to document my time in Cape Town. I won’t be skateboarding or playing basketball because I am very injury-prone and just broke my hand in December! I love going to concerts; at Dartmouth, I run an indie concert club.
My exchange program is held in conjunction with the University of Cape Town. I’ll be living in an apartment nearby with three or four other Dartmouth students. I’ll have to cook for myself, which I find fun! I wonder what other exciting things I’ll do! Join me and let's find out together!
