It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's a...segway?

For the moment, people frequent the metro in order to get to popular locations like the train station, middle street (a massive strip mall) and Mukden Palace. The metro is known for being really clean, fast and efficient. It’s also cheap! Fourteen stops cost only four RMB, which is less than one dollar!

Taxi

Apart from walking, this is my favorite method of transportation. Taxi’s are another affordable way to reach far ends of the city. They are not as cheap as the Metro, but they get passengers to areas that the subway lines haven’t reached yet. The Taxi drivers are really polite, but buckle up because the ride will get bumpy. Cars are not afraid to speed past slow bikers, cross lanes or cut off one another car at turns. A taxi ride is one of the biggest adrenaline rushes you can get in Shenyang.

Personal car

The personal car is typically reserved for older people in Shenyang. Adults in their 20s and teenagers, primary use taxi’s and bikes to get around. However, if you have a family, then a personal car is best. People drive a lot of the same cars as they do in the United States. I’ve seen big brands like Hundai, Toyota and Range Rover. In fact, BMW has a corporate office in Shenyang. There are a lot of BMWs around the city for this reason.

Other

There’s more! People also drive motor bikes, motor scooters and Segway’s. All of these types of transportations are really cool to see. Driving any of them requires great coordination and balance, especially the Segway. The Segways come in many shapes and sizes. More than what I’ve seen in the States.

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:
