Did you know that Salamanca is known as the "City of Frogs"? This is a suitable nickname because you can find frogs everywhere, here! There are images of frogs on historical buildings, frog-inspired items for sale in stores, frog designs on bracelets and clothes and even frogs available as stuffed animals!
One of my friends said "I love frogs, and so does everyone here in Salamanca. The locals' love for frogs is so strong that even many adults have stuffed toy frogs in their offices! Coming to Salamanca as a frog-lover definitely reaffirmed for me the fact that you should always be yourself, since there are more people and places that share your interests than you might think. Always stay true to yourself and what you love. And for me that means loving...frogs!"
Right now in Salamanca it is not frog season, so we haven't seen any real frogs. However, images of frogs can be found everywhere, and people sell frog items in almost every store.
A frog has big, round eyes that stick out of its head. It has strong back legs that help it jump very far. It has webbed feet, which help it swim in water. Most frogs are green or brown in color. This helps them hide and blend in with plants in the wild.
