Orangutans live in the rain forest and the only places that they can still be found are on Sumatra (another island in Indonesia) and on Borneo (the island where I live).
The orangutans live in the rain forest. They spend their whole lives there. It's where their homes are and where they find their food.
According to the World Wildlife Fund, orangutans are protected endangered species. The biggest reason is due to reforestation. People are logging (cutting down trees) which is ruining the orangutans' habitat.
