Hi all! As the semester comes to an end, I am starting to prepare for my return to the United States. I am looking forward to seeing all my American friends and family again, but I will miss so much too. I have loved the time I spent here creating a new life, becoming a regular at cafes with my friends, playing with my host siblings, and practicing my Arabic with locals. When I first started studying abroad, while I was very excited to learn about my new host country, I was nervous about meeting new people and how hard it can be to adjust to a new country. While at times I did miss my normal life in the U.S., especially during all the transition between countries, studying abroad has been an amazing decision and has taught me so much. I will miss so many things about the region (especially the food), and my two new host families will forever be a part of my life. I hope that in the future I can return to visit as there are still so many things in these beautiful countries I have not had a chance to see yet.

Studying abroad provides so many opportunities that can’t be found in the classroom.
