Alma is one of my students in the fourth year of escuela secundaria obligatoria (compulsory secondary education) classes. This just means that she is in the equivalent of 10th grade. Alma is 15 years old, and she is so excited to share about her life!
Alma explained that for breakfast she usually eats eggs, cereal with milk, or magdalenas (small muffins), and she often drinks coffee or Colocao. Colocao is another brand that is similar to Nesquik! I use Colocao to make hot chocolate or cold chocolate milk. For lunch, she eats a variety of foods such as jamón (ham) and cheese sandwiches, salads, lentils, croquetas (deep-fried rolls with filling), pasta or paella. Paella is a traditional rice dish that is very popular in Spain. For dinner, she typically eats fruit with foods similar to those she has for lunch, such as pizza, hamburgers or tuna. She said that her favorite dessert is frozen yogurt from Llaollao, which is a frozen yogurt shop popular throughout Spain. Her favorite topping is green pistachio cream.
