Overall, my experience of being separated from the group on the subway was empowering to me because it helped me develop navigation skills and gave me confidence in myself!
Getting around by subway is connected to the culture and environment because Koreans work hard and are always on the go. They are proud of their balli-balli culture, which means faster-faster, and their transportation methods are connected with that since people are always in a hurry to get to where they need to be. With the subway, they can go to any part of the city they want in a timely matter. Another thing I noticed about life here in Seoul is that since people walk to their destinations most of the time, they have lots of stamina and can walk long distances up and down hills carrying things with no problems, including local senior citizens.
