As we move into a future where overfilled landfills and the production and circulation of single-use plastics are huge issues for the global community, governments like the French government can be helpful by regulating sustainability and providing the services for the community to practice sustainability together.
In general, the needs for an advanced garbage-sorting system and a reduction in the consumption of single-use plastics in France are being met! There are large dumpsters sorted into three sections for garbage, recycling and compost, sprinkled all throughout Aix-en-Provence, and I rarely see trash or litter on the street. In grocery stores and other shops, paper bags are used instead of plastic, reducing the amount of plastic in circulation.
