Hello! I am so lucky to meet you all and be a part of the Reach the World program. My name is Tamara Simpson, and I am a college student at Towson University in Maryland, where I am a senior. My major is film production with two minors in creative writing and Japanese, and I will graduate at the end of this semester in May. I am also the president of the Japanese Language and Culture Organization (J.L.C.O.) on my campus, a role I've had for two years. I have worked closely with different foreign country student organizations on my campus and have even befriended many Japanese exchange students. I am very passionate about the Japanese language and culture, and I hope to work in Japan after I graduate!
In my free time, I love to play video games, watch T.V. and movies, travel to new places (although that has been on hold due to the pandemic), read and write, cook and bake, make costumes and generally just have fun!
I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, but I was raised in Maryland from the time I was a few weeks old. I grew up in a place called Montgomery County until I was nine, and then I moved to what I consider my hometown, Frederick, Maryland. My family has lived there ever since.
Unlike all of you, I was homeschooled! I was taught everything for school at home.
