Hi, new friends! My name is Taylor, and I am from Lexington, Kentucky. I went to college at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, where I majored in psychology (the study of how people think, feel, and behave) and minored in chemistry and neuroscience (the study of the brain and nervous system). Now, I am a Peace Corps volunteer in the Kingdom of Lesotho (pronounced "leh-soo-two"), sometimes called the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho because it's so mountainous. Never heard of it? That’s okay; I hadn't either until right before I moved here!
When I was a junior in college, I studied abroad for half a year in Edinburgh, Scotland. I got to travel all around Europe, and I fell in love with learning about new people and cultures! I knew then that I wanted to spend more time learning outside of the United States.
After I graduated from college, I decided to join the Peace Corps. The Peace Corps is a government agency (or group) that sends American volunteers all over the world to help with development projects important to local communities. Countries ask for Peace Corps volunteers to help with educational, youth empowerment, health, agricultural and economic projects. There are Peace Corps volunteers working in communities in over 60 countries!
