Before you know it, you are setting yourself up for a new life, and those dreams of traveling the world seem more and more distant. This why I've been grateful to be able to share my journey in France with all of you. It has pushed me to do a lot more exploration and research of this city, in order to give you some meaningful stories! Just like you, I have learned some new things and gone to new places that weren't originally in my plans.
This past weekend, I tried to take advantage of the little time (and nice weather) I have left to visit museums here in Paris, including the Musée Nationale Picasso-Paris and the Musée d'Orsay. Although my legs hurt after walking for hours, the experience was very enjoyable. The Picasso Museum has a very large collection of Piccaso pieces as well as some pieces created by artists inspired by Piccaso. I never thought about going there until I started writing this article. Did you know that Paris alone has over 140 museums, or musées as they are called here? Most visitors only visit the most famous ones, like the Louvre and the Musee d'Orsay. The Musee d'Orsay consists of one the largest collections of Impressionism. Imagine multiple rooms featuring pieces by Monet, Manet, Renoir, Degas and Van Gogh! My visit made me realize that instead of wallowing in the things you wished you did, you need to focus on the things you can do!
When I return to America, I'll go back to my studies and home, and life will go on. I will make new plans and talk about the things I did over the year, to the point of annoyance of everyone around me! At first, life back home will seem mundane, and I won't be able help missing France. But that won't be a bad thing.
