Dear friends,
Thank you so much for welcoming me into your classroom and letting me share my journey in India with you through Reach the World. I’ve had so much fun talking with you about everyday life in Chennai. I’m even more grateful for how curious and thoughtful you all were throughout this partnership.
One of the biggest lessons I’m taking from this experience is that we often understand things more deeply when we share it with someone else and get to hear their perspective. Explaining what I was seeing and learning in Chennai helped me notice details I might have missed, and your questions pushed me to think in new ways about my research and about the world.
You also helped me become more reflective and more creative in how I told stories. Before this project, believe it or not, I wasn’t someone who took many pictures. I’ve always been more of a “live in the moment” kind of guy. But knowing you were following along made me want to capture more, and I’m thankful for that. Looking back, these photos feel like a gift: they help me remember moments more clearly, even when my memory gets a little fuzzy.
And I have to say that your questions made this experience special in ways I didn’t expect. I still think about Melissa asking about the lack of stop signs here.
