In Nepali, when we say goodbye, we say pachi bhetaumla, which means "see you later!" I will be staying in Nepal until June. So, if you are curious about anything else involving life in Nepal, please tell your teachers to ask me :)

For the remainder of my Fulbright scholarship, I will be doing survey and data collection work in the brick kilns outside Bhaktapur. Then, I will analyze the data and head back home! During my free time, I hope to keep trying new Nepali foods, participate in local festivals and explore other parts of the country.

I recently went on my first trek, which is like a long hike. I stayed in the mountains on the Lang Tang Circuit in northern Nepal for six nights. Every day, we would hike eight to twelve hours along a winding trail following the river. The first couple of days hiking uphill were difficult, especially since we were carrying our backpacks the whole way. We often stopped at little teahouses for breaks. When we needed to rest for the night, we would hike to the nearest teahouse and stay there. We would eat dhal bhat, rice and lentils every day to keep our energy up.
