Farewell

From this experience, I saw how nice people could be and learned that sometimes things are not as bad as they seem.

I have also made some amazing friends during my time at the University of Exeter. While attending university here, I have made friends from England, China and even Bermuda. I have met people that I would have never even had the chance of talking to if I never took the leap to leave the United States. They have given me so many fond memories that I cannot wait to tell my friends back in Mississippi as soon as I get back home. My favorite memory that I have had with them so far has been the night we threw one of our friends a surprise birthday party. We all got together ordered pizza, bought presents and surprised her at her front door with balloons and cake. After surprising her, we all played games in her kitchen all evening. The friends that I have made in Exeter have helped me make my way through my journey studying abroad. I would have gone home a long time ago if it were not for them and their kindness.

As I am writing this article, I have six weeks left until I go home to Mississippi, and I can honestly say that I am going to miss this place. It might not be as big as London or as pretty as Amsterdam, but the city of Exeter will always be special to me. In the future, I want to come back and relive my time in this wonderful city.
