Integrating into the Exeter Culture

Even things like food brands that are found in America and American restaurants taste different in the United Kingdom than they do in America. Once, I ate at a McDonalds because I missed the taste of American food, and I was shocked to see that the food there was different than what I was used to. Food in the United Kingdom has weaker flavors and can take a while to get used to. I have learned how to cook because sometimes I need a break from the foreignness of British food. The best food to eat in the United Kingdom can be found in cafes. Pret-A-Manger has been my favorite place to eat so far during my journey through Exeter. This place has some of the best sandwiches that I can find in town. The flavors are still a little weak, but some items on the menu are really flavorful.

In the end, integrating into the culture has been pretty easy so far. The people have been helpful when it has come to explaining how things work in the city. Looking back at my time in Exeter so far, I am beginning to like some of the elements of this city. I love the buses and the people. I also love the atmosphere the city has to offer. I hope that later on in life when I do leave the city, I am able to come back and reminisce on my time here.
