I'm not saying that you should do random difficult things but that you should try to do good things, even if it isn't easy. Doing chores and helping around in the house isn't easy and not always fun. But it is a good thing, and I'm sure your parents would really appreciate it. Being kind to others is another thing that isn't always easy, but it's the right thing to do. By choosing to do what is right and what is good, even if it hard, you are learning valuable lessons that will help you throughout your life. These lessons become even more valuable when you are living far away from home.
When I talked to you over video call, you all seemed curious with lots of questions. Don't lose that. If you don't know something, ask questions and search for answers. Try to understand others and other cultures. Explore information in books, then go into the real world and try to experience what you read about. Maybe one day you will travel to Japan, too!
These three things have helped me a lot and led me to Japan. By applying to this study abroad program, I chose to be courageous. By choosing to do hard things in high school, I was able to learn leadership skills, good practices for managing money and skills I would need to live on my own. It was also during high school that I went on my first international trip alone. These experiences gave me the skills I've needed to live in Japan. By being curious, I've been able to learn so much about the world around me and the culture I am now living in.
In conclusion, I want you to move past fear, do what is right and keep asking questions. I really enjoyed talking to you and getting to know more about your class.
