It is important to understand that my time in Portugal and Spain was just one adventure of many past and many to come. Don't let anyone make you believe that adventure is a once-in-a-lifetime shenanigan. It's a lifetime of shenanigans. It does come with caveats, however such as deprivation of material things and a personal transformation that may not be understood or appreciated by everyone. As far as physical risks, I've never gone without a shower for more than three days, and the most life-threatening scenarios for me anywhere in the world involved cars. Simply put, the world is safe and worth exploring because even the mundane can be extraordinary.
I was walking along the Camino de Santiago in Spain and Portugal. It is an ancient pilgrimage with its own cliche about being a personal journey as well. I was not looking, nor did I find, such a revelation although others do when walking this route. Such trips are an act of contemplation in the life's experiment with truth as Gandhi once said.
