I did not travel much this week. I went to a satellite village to teach a class, but that was about it. Last weekend, I went to my regional capital about 30 miles away to run some errands. Next week, I'm going to Lima on a Peace Corps trip- my first trip back to Lima since I graduated from training in June!
On this journey, I've mostly stayed in my village, since I will live and work in this village for two years. I started my Peace Corps journey in a town about an hour outside of Lima, where I had training for three months before swearing in as a volunteer. I also made a Peace Corps work trip to a region called Áncash, which is home to Huascarán, the tallest mountain in Peru!
This week, I walked. It's pretty much the only way to get around my town. There's a combi (small bus) that travels from my site to the regional capital pretty regularly (6 times per week), but that's for special occasions or for when I need to leave my site.
