The Tube is an underground train that stops at various locations around the city. Everytime you use the Tube or bus, you have to make sure you have money or your Oyster card, so you can pay for your ride. If you don't have money, you can top off your Oyster card, which means you're adding money to it. When I want to get some exercise and see the city, on a sunny day I can ride a bike or scooter around. Bikes are rented out at specific locations, and when I'm done using my bike I just return it back to one of those locations. People who live in London also often use cars. I do not have a license or a car here, so I have to use public transportation.
I have been in London for one week. In this time, I have walked a lot, ridden a bus and taken the Tube. I think it is a lot of fun walking around the city. I am from a really small town, so I am used to driving my car when I go to school or work. When I walk, I get to explore more of where I live. I get to see beautiful buildings and plants I have never seen before, and I get to enjoy the sun.
I have ridden the Tube a couple of times this week. Before coming to London, I had never tried anything like the Tube. There's no subway in a small town like the one where I grew up. The Tube has many railway cars and tracks going to different places and in different directions, which can be confusing and made me feel nervous. Each car only goes one way and stops at its designated location for about twenty seconds. This means it's easy for me to miss my location or to get on the wrong car. Thankfully, there are workers and signs to help me, along with friends that have used the Tube before.
