My friends and I visited the Baños del Inca, a spa that uses water from thermal springs located about six kilometers from Cajamarca. The Baños del Inca is also said to have been where the Inca Atahualpa bathed when he arrived in Cajamarca after his long battles. Atahualpa is believed to have spent time in the hot springs in order to regain his strength and continue with his conquests. My friends and I had so much fun relaxing in the same place as an Incan king!
As I return from Cajamarca, I will spend a couple of days in Lima before flying home to Iquitos. In Lima, I will attend a conference for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program where we will share presentations about our projects. I am excited to share my progress and hang out with the other scholars as we continue to explore Lima!
