Last weekend, I traveled 100 miles west of my hometown to the city of Nitra. Nitra is one of Slovakia's oldest cities, with historical records going back to the year 828. I traveled just over 250 miles this week, from my small town to Nitra and back over the weekend. Of course, I also walked around town and traveled to school every day too.
My hometown is quite rural, so most major cities and attractions are far away. By my estimates, I’ve traveled nearly 1,500 miles across Slovakia so far!
Because my hometown is so rural, bus and train connections are very infrequent, especially on the weekends. Therefore, I do have a car here. Most long journeys for me are by car, but I live close enough to school and local shops that I walk during the week.
Definitely Zobor mountain, near Nitra. I loved looking out over the city and hiking up and down, even if it tired me out!
