Simply learning about how long the Church has been standing fascinated me. It is said to have been consecrated, or declared sacred, in the fourth century. That is about 1700 years ago!
A very important place that I visited during my time in Jerusalem was the Yad Vashem, a Holocaust museum. In addition to documenting an important part of Jewish history, the Yad Vashem also acts as a memorial for the millions of people who lost their lives in the Holocaust.
