It’s a little difficult to travel by train in Mallersdorf because it’s not a big city. When I want to go to Munich, first I walk to the train station, then I take the train to a city called Neufahrn, and then I switch trains to go to Munich. It takes about an hour and a half.
I had a really good time visiting Munich with a friend this week. We had waffles filled with fruit for breakfast, and then we went to the zoo the whole day. Munich is the capital city of Bavaria and the third largest city in Germany, so there’s always something to do there. In addition to the zoo, there are 80 different museums. My favorite thing about Munich is the old Glockenspeil on the New Town Hall. Every day at 11 AM the tiny figures in the Glockenspeil dance and spin to music.
I was very lucky this Christmas because my whole family came to visit me! It was really fun to show them all of my favorite parts of Bavaria, like Munich and Mallersdorf. Now that they've flown home, I sometimes feel a little homesick. Meeting friends and seeing new places through traveling helps me feel a lot better.
