Since Slovakia is very mountainous, it can make it hard to have so many cars on the windy roads. Buses and trains make it easier to travel between towns and villages. Slovakia also has many small towns and villages, and they each usually have a town square where there are lots of shops and businesses. This makes it easy to walk where you need to go.
