你好！(Ni Hao!) Hello! My name is Tyler Delahanty. I am 22 years old and I'm from Arlington Heights, a suburb about 40 minutes northwest of Chicago. Back home, I enjoyed spending time with my family and friends, going to concerts, and many, many baseball games (Go Cubs!).
I migrated to the University of Dayton in Southwest Ohio for college to study Pre-K-5 Education with a Mandarin Chinese minor. I always had a great interest in studying abroad in college and had a desire to continue practicing and learning Chinese. Through my school, I discovered the Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship program, and found that I could combine my interest in teaching young students with my desire to continue using Chinese! I applied and was accepted for an English Teaching position in Taipei, Taiwan, where I am able to work with elementary students, learn about a fascinating new culture, and continue to learn and practice my Chinese on a daily basis. I am super excited to share all my wonderful experiences with you and look forward to learning about your many wonderful experiences throughout the school year!
