Would you try beans for breakfast? When you're traveling, it's always great to try traditional foods of the country you're in!

What music did I listen to this week?:

I heard a lot of familiar pop and rock songs around London and Oxford this week. Although my instinct was to label these songs as American, I realized that a lot of the artists that I’m used to listening to are actually British, like Coldplay, Natasha Bedingfield and Amy Winehouse.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

I had the most fun sightseeing in London with my best friend. We saw Buckingham Palace, which is the London home of the Queen of England, Westminster Abbey and the Palace of Westminster. We walked through Hyde ParK as well.

What did I read this week?:

I started reading “A Lab of One’s Own: Science and Suffrage in the First World War,” which is a book about the advances that women made in science and toward their right to vote in Europe during World War I. Since I’ve been in Europe, I’ve wished that I knew more about European history. By reading this book, I hope to learn about European history through the lens of something that I care a lot about, women in science and women’s rights.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I played a game with my best friend and her friends from Oxford. It was a word association game, where we went around and named people that fit into different categories, like activists or scientists. Since everyone comes from different places, we all had very different answers. It was interesting to hear about important figures that I had never learned about in school.
