There are several nonprofits and churches that provide services to those in need but unfortunately, it's still not enough. I'd say that it's a start, and it's better than not having any services at all. I volunteer at the Scottish Church in Valletta, where we have a Food Bank four days a week. I am in charge on Tuesday nights. People who are unable to buy food must get a referral from a social worker and then we provide them with food for their families for the week. Food is donated to the church and in turn, we provide it to families in need. Every Tuesday, we are open for one and a half hours. People come in one at a time and we pack them different amounts and types of food depending on how many family members they have and any dietary restrictions.
