All of my experiences close to our oceans inspired me to continue learning more about these incredible ecosystems. Now, I am back in Norway as a researcher! I live in a small farm town called Bø, in southern Norway, which is surrounded by mountains and just a two-hour drive to the sea. My job is to help answer one important question: are seabirds living in protected ocean areas healthier than seabirds living in unprotected areas? Answering this question will help scientists like me better take care of the species in our seas. I am spending this year studying two fascinating seabirds-- the Great Black-Backed Gull and the Common Eider, which is a large sea duck.
I can’t wait to bring you along on my journey as an ocean ecologist in the beautiful country of Norway! Thank you for joining me, and I am so excited to learn more with you!
