Who am I?

I am so excited for all you future world travelers to come on this journey with me! Let me introduce myself first. My name is Mackenzie and this message is coming to you from the Netherlands. Some of you may have heard of this small (but mighty!) Dutch country in the northeastern part of Europe. Can you find the Netherlands on a map?

I grew up in Massachusetts with my two parents, my brother, Jason and our dog, Brindy (she is a pug and Boston terrier mix). I love to swim, hang out with my friends and explore new places. After high school, I chose to continue my education at Villanova University in Pennsylvania. I swam all four years of college and we won our conference every year I was there! Our mascot is the Wildcat, so say it with me: GO CATS! Besides athletics, I studied criminology and sociology at school. For as long as I can remember, humans, our communities and our actions have always fascinated me, and both of those majors helped me delve further into how societies and communities impact people and influence how they act. I even got the chance to become a volunteer tutor in a prison for two and a half years, which has made me want to become a teacher.

As a collegiate swimmer, I did not get the chance to travel abroad in college, so when I found out that I could not only travel but also work in a different country after graduation, I jumped at the opportunity.
