If you like dessert, Serbia has plenty of sweet pies and strudels, usually filled with a sugary-nut mixture.
Serbia's fruit and vegetable availability is more limited than the U.S.A., so you can only find peaches and raspberries in the summer. Only seasonal produce is found at the farmers' markets, though, which means it tastes the best! Food grown close to home means it's fresher and better for the earth. Many farmers in Serbia also support green initiatives and don't use harmful chemicals such as pesticides. We can all learn from this way of buying local when possible.
