My Journey with Jamón

Nevertheless, I was still so excited to try it, and I'm glad I did! I also couldn't get behind jamon, which everyone said I would love, but it was too salty for my personal taste. What I did enjoy was the eggs, which is surprising because I never ate eggs prior to living in Madrid. Now, though, I eat them all the time because people here put eggs in so many dishes.

How is the food prepared?:

A lot of the food has potato, ham, and saffron which is a spice. I unfortunately still don't know how to cook, but I was shocked by the affordability of fresh produce and meat in Madrid. As a result, it's not very surprising that a lot of the cusine here revolves around meat and potatos. My roomate who is vegetarian had a really difficult time eating out because so many dishes contain meat in Madrid. She had to become pescatarian (fish-eater) in order to try foods at restaurants.

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

Food is a big part of Spanish culture, especially their most important dishes like jamon and paella. In Madrid, I lived near two jamon (ham) museums! I had never seen so many food specific museums until I went to Madrid.
