¡Bienvenidos a Madrid! (Welcome to Madrid!) Madrid is the vibrant capital of Spain. It is also home to a diverse and delicious food scene. I’m excited to share some of my favorite meals with you!
My featured photo for this article (which is also the third photo on this page) shows three different tacos from TKO Tacos, a popular taco restaurant chain here in Madrid. Tacos are a traditional Mexican dish, but they are fan favorites in Spain. This taco spot is one of my favorite places to catch up with friends. I came here after orientation, my first week in Madrid. I’ve been here almost every week since!
The first taco I chose is a taco al pastor, or a marinated pork taco with onion and coriander (an herb). I also got a taco de cochinita pibil, which is a taco with marinated pork leg and purple onion. My final taco was a taco de tinga de pollo, or a grilled chicken breast taco. These tacos were all delicious, but my favorite was the taco de cochinita pibil.
