Here in Vallecas, I ate delicious pupusas. This soft cornmeal bread is stuffed with cheese, beans and various other fillings to taste. I have also come to love bao buns, a traditional Chinese food that can also be found in Vallecas and elsewhere in Madrid. These bready dumplings are often filled with pork, vegetables and other fixings. The global cuisine of Madrid has also been among my favorites.
Madrid has such delicious meals. Tacos, churros, pupusas and bao buns are just a few of the many scrumptious foods I have eaten during my time abroad. I’m excited to share these meals with my friends and family when I return to the US. Trying global cuisines is one of my favorite parts of cultural exploration.
