Hi everyone! My name is Abby Salamone and I am from Lancaster, New York, which is just a short ride from the city of Buffalo. I just turned 22 years old and graduated from Union College this past June with a double major in anthropology and Chinese. I was lucky enough to study abroad in India and China while I was at Union, and I loved it so much that I knew I wanted to continue my studies abroad after graduation.
Since I did research on education and volunteered in after-school programs during my senior year and loved the whole classroom experience, I also knew I would be interested in learning to become a teacher. In order to combine my interests of education, exploring different cultures and learning new languages, I looked for opportunities to teach English abroad after graduation. After looking into many different programs, I am so excited to have gotten the opportunity to be a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Taitung, Taiwan for the next year.
So far I've loved living in Taiwan and teaching English at two amazing schools. I can't wait to share the rest of my experience with all of you! Are you ready to learn more about Taiwan?
