My student, Hu Ping, takes both my newspaper reading class and my oral English class. She is a freshman at Northeastern University where I teach and she's a very hard worker.

I am from Dalian, a coastal city two hours by train from Shenyang. My house is in an apartment building on the 13th floor. There are 20 floors in my building, so it is very tall! From my building, we cannot see the ocean, but we can see the mountains and we have a nice view of the city of Dalian.
I live with my mom, my dad and my grandparents. It is very common in China to live with your grandparents. When we are babies, our grandparents take care of us while our mom and dad work. I miss my family while I am at university!
I get around by bike, bus or walking.
I like to wear warm clothes in Shenyang, because it is often cold here! My favorite outfit is a pair of baggy jeans, which are very popular in China right now, a hoodie and a fuzzy coat.
