The weather was very cold and windy this week with very little sunshine! We are in the middle of the snowy season in the mountains of Bulgaria which makes it great for snow activities such as snowboarding, making snowmen, having snowball fights and sledding down the hills! It has been so fun experiencing a winter snow season because I grew up in the hot and sunny Arizona desert!
This week, I went up to the Balkan mountains next to my town to a place called Uzana where there are meadows, trees and even ski and snowboarding hills. While there, I saw a beautiful horse roaming around the meadow. I was a little nervous, but I decided to approach it because it seemed friendly. It even let me pet its beautiful long mane! Another animal I saw was a heron (a type of bird) in the river that runs through my town. It had a beautiful long neck and white outstretched wings! I also always see a flock of tiny birds right next to my apartment. They always sing to me when I pass by, and I make sure to say hello each time!
