I traveled 154 miles this week to Osaka, Japan to pick up some equipment and see a new city. Osaka is a very large city and densely populated.
In total from the U.S. to Kurashiki, and with my trips, I have traveled 7,145 miles.
I got around by walking and taking trains. I used both bullet trains and normal trains. A bullet train, or Shinkansen, is a high-speed train that can reach speeds of 200 mph.
Takahashi, Japan is a city about a 40-minute train ride north. It was extremely rural and most of the small city ran along a river. I was astounded by not only its beauty but how quiet the area was.
I walked around Kurashiki to view the large rice paddies and the mountains. One of my neighbors tells me that the rice will be harvested very soon.
