






Japanese is the main language spoken in Japan, but many people love practicing their English phrases with me because they know I speak English. They also help me with my Japanese every day!
The currency of Japan is the ¥ (Yen), 100¥ is about 1 U.S. dollar.
A bottle of water here usually costs 100¥, or 1 U.S. dollar.
This week I tried Tonkatsu with Japanese curry. Tonkatsu is fried pork cutlet. It is sometimes served with Japanese curry but can be served with rice or vegetables. Japanese curry is not spicy. It is sweeter than normal curry.
I listened to Japanese Pop music this week! The style of Japanese pop uses music from all over the world but holds a Japanese base. It is exciting and easy to dance to. I specifically listened to an artist by the name of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, who has been referred to as the "Lady Gaga" of Japan.
