Bikes, Trains, and Bullet Trains. Oh my!

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

This form of transportation is definitely related to the culture of Japan. For example, in Japan, it is very courteous to be on time. In fact, it is expected to be on time. Of course sometimes accidents happen, and there are things that stop you from being on time, but when possible to be on time it is an expectation. This respect for customer's time is important. There is also a lot of respect for space and the environment in Japan. The Shinkansen lines wrap around mountains and attempt not to disrupt the natural beauty of the area in an effort to respect the environment.
