I recently traveled to Lugo, Spain, a nearby town in the middle of Galicia, for a festival called San Froilán. It is a week-long festival to celebrate the patron saint of the town of Lugo: Saint Froilan. Celebrating a patron saint's feast day is a Catholic tradition, and it is very common in Spain to celebrate the town's patron saint's feast day with a festival. For this festival in Lugo, I went for a quick weekend trip. I went on a Ferris wheel with some friends, played some carnival games and saw a concert all on the same street! Lugo is also known for their ancient Roman wall, so I walked along it with friends and went to visit the cathedral in town. It was a really cool experience and a very fun weekend!
My longest travel day was the day I flew from the United States of America to Spain. I flew from Newark, New Jersey, U.S.A. to Madrid, Spain. I then took a two-hour high-speed train to get from Madrid to my town, Ourense, Spain. While in Spain, my longest travel day has been to Lugo. To get to this nearby city, I took an almost two-hour train ride to get there and then another two-hour train ride to get back to my town. Lots of traveling!
