The weather this week was very cold! I am in Wonju, the largest city in the Gangwon-Do Province, in the northern part of South Korea. Although it is not snowing, there is still ice and snow on the sidewalks and streets.
Many cats wander the streets in my city, and hawks fly around in the sky looking for food! My high school has a cat as the school mascot. The cat’s name is Schröding, after Schrödinger’s Cat. The cat has its own classroom, and he wanders around the school, too.
I am close to a mountain called Chiaksan. It is a national park and a popular hiking destination! In Korean, san means mountain, and ak means that the mountain is made out of rock.
One morning, on the bus ride to school, I saw many white cranes standing in the river.
