Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

I traveled all over Wonju, my placement city, this week! To get to my high school and middle school, I travel across the city and take multiple bus lines along the way.

On the weekend, I traveled with my friend to Seoul, which was 90 minutes away by bus. The distance from Seoul to Wonju is about 68 miles.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

Since arriving in Korea, I have been to Goesan, Hwacheon, Chuncheon, Cheonan, Cheongju, Seoul (the capital city) and my placement city, Wonju!

How did I get around this week?:

To get around the city and to go to both of my schools, I use the Wonju city buses. The public transportation is very easy to use! There is an electronic bus schedule at all the bus stops. Since I am in a city with cold weather, there are indoor waiting areas at some bus stops. These areas are heated inside, so you don’t have to wait outside in the cold! The bus costs ₩1600 per ride, about $1.12 USD.

To get to Seoul, the capital, my friend and I took a bus from Wonju. The bus ride was approximately 90 minutes. Once we got to Seoul, we walked around a lot and took the subway, which was very easy to use!
