Now that I have come to the end of my time with you all, I have also come to the halfway mark on my journey in Israel. I think it is crazy that I have already spent six months in this beautiful country. When I first arrived, I was so nervous. I remember being anxious about the Americans I would live with and about the Israelis around me. Now, in February, I can say that some of the people here are my best friends and will be for life. I come home to an apartment where I feel welcome and safe, where I have had some of my best laughs. As for the Israelis, I have made connections way deeper than I would have imagined. When I leave, I will miss this special country. I will miss the delicious hummus and pita and the fresh bakery items. I will miss the beauty of the palm trees on my way to work and the amazing weather.

However, what I will miss most are the people here. I will miss my co-teacher whom I work with everyday. She has inspired me as a person and as an educator. She is always looking for ways to instill creativity into our lessons, which are normally taught from the textbook. She also goes above and beyond for our students and our school community, making sure every student reaches his or her full potential.
