There are orange trees all throughout the streets of Rehovot, and we have been saying that we want to go picking. When we first arrived, the spot we originally had in mind was very bare, so all of the oranges must have been picked off. We were really disappointed. Then we headed over to “my spot” where I like to relax, and behold, we saw more orange trees! We each picked one and took it over to our picnic blanket to try. We were not pleased by the taste. In fact, we both spit out our first bites; they were very bitter! I am still glad we tried the oranges though, and now we know for the future.
One day the forecast said “dusty.” I had never seen this before and did not really know what it meant. In fact, my roommate who leaves for work later than me texted me to ask about it. However, I said, it means exactly what it says, the air feels dusty. The air seemed to be foggy and dirty. Later in the day, the dust cleared! I do not think this is a norm for Israel; it was very out of the blue!
