drive cars, or do anything that would be considered “work” from Friday at sundown to Saturday at sundown.

What music did I listen to this week?:

One day this week, my co-teacher drove me home from school. We had the radio on, and at first popular English songs came on. First was “Waka Waka” by Shakira, followed by “Wavin’ Flag” by K’naan. We were both singing along, but then a song by the group Cafe Shahor Hazak came on. They are an Israeli hip-hop group with an Ethiopian background.  Ethiopia is a country in East Africa, and many immigrants in Israel come from there. The song was very catch,  and then my teacher explained to me that their name translates to "Strong Black Coffee". I thought it to be an original yet odd name, but I thought their song (which was in Hebrew) was very catchy!

What activity was the most fun this week?:

Every week, I run an English club after school with the native English speakers. I look forward to this time of the week because we focus on learning about the different countries of the world. Each week the students are able to choose a country, and I find an article for us to read about and discuss this country and their culture with each other. The students then write about what they learned in their “World Books.” I love this time of the week because I am learning with my students about all of these unique countries and people! It is also amazing to see the students’ interests in cultures that differ from their own. This week we learned all about Peru and Machu Picchu!
