Snakes are often seen on my campus, the National Centre for Biological Sciences (or NCBS for short), and some of them are venomous. That means they can inject toxic substances through a bite! Having deadly snakes living on campus is dangerous, so the university has a team of expert snake handlers that will carefully catch the snakes and move them to a nearby forest. I got to see one of those experts in action this week when he caught a snake called the Common Cobra near a campus building.
I learned this week that cows are allowed to roam the streets of Bangalore. Sometimes they will stand in the middle of the road and block traffic.
